Missouri State Unemployment Council

The Missouri State Unemployment Council was formed in accordance with Section 288.475, RSMo, to advise the Division of Employment Security in carrying out the purposes of Unemployment Insurance Law.

The Council is comprised of eleven members, nine voting members and two nonvoting. Membership appointments are made by the Governor, Speaker of the House and President Pro Tem of the Senate. The membership is chosen to represent the interest of employers, employees and the public.

The Council presents proposals to the Division recommending changes involving Chapter 288. Final recommendations from the Council are submitted to the Governor and General Assembly before January 15^th of each year.
